Question / Help Exclude TeamSpeak from OBS but still hear all audio through headset

Hey everyone!

I've read the guide on how to exclude certain audio sources from the stream but I'm afraid it doesn't apply to my case.
(I've got VAC and have Stereomix available aswell)

When playing games I'm using my headset for all sounds.
Gamesound, music, TeamSpeak, everything.

Since I don't want viewers to listen to my TeamSpeak conversations I want to exclude its sound from OBS ONLY.
I still want to hear all sounds through my headset though.

Is that even possible? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Set a VAC as default audio device, set it up in the Windows audio settings so that your headset listens to that device. Select the VAC in OBS, set TeamSpeak to output directly to your headset.

Thanks alot, I will give that a try!

Just to make it clear for myself:

- Default playback device: VAC
- Default recording device: headset
- headet recording device is listening to VAC
- TS is using headset directly
- OBS is using VAC playback device

Did I get it right?

Now I'm getting a weird sound loop on my stream. It seems to loop the first few seconds endlessly while also playing the current sound.

In the properties of the VAC recording device you can choose to listen to it with your headset. The VAC "speaker" or "line out" should be the default playback devices yes. TS and OBS is correct. What your default recording device should be is up to you, most likely your microphone (which in this case can be your headset).

If the audio loops like you mentioned earlier, than you probably have the VAC also listening to your headset.

Alright, it's working like a charm now.

Using the Audio Repeater from VAC to send the sound from Line 1 (all sounds) to my headset.

Was playing around with two virtual cables and made the 2nd listen to the 1st and wanted to make OBS use Line 2. Somehow Line 2 didn't play any sounds although it was set to listen to Line 1.
Couldn't figure out why.

But since it's working with only one virtual cable now I don't have to worry about it. :)

Thanks alot for your eyeopening help Xphome!
