I also experienced the same thing, every time I turn on OBS, the 16gb ram will sound and the mac will start to get hot, how to solve it.

Any browser source, even a totally static website with absolutely no movement, no css, no anything.. it still causes OBS' RAM usage to spiral out of control.

Those that still have this problem, just don't use any web sources that have heavy animation. Easiest way is to just remove all your web sources, then slowly add one by one while monitoring the memory usage from activity monitor.

Was running into issue and it was freezing the lives. Had MBP with i9 dedicated GPU and 64 Gigs of ram... and I fixed it... Bought a MSI laptop with windows! Lives run flawlessly with a quarter of the ram and a slower cpu. The Mac version of OBS has major issue

MacBook pro-2022 26GB memory

hi I am having memory ram eaten up by the latest OBS. I am only streaming on cam , nothing else ,(Logitech 922)
an hour or so and PowerBook says "... memory usage is too high" and will freeze if I do not force quit open programs chrome and OBS
