Question / Help Everytime i try and record it records a small portion of the video and exports to multiple files

So basically when I try to record gameplay on my obs, it stops recording suddenly and then does a pattern where it cuts my whole video recording into a pile of mess of video files. Ive had this problem since i got obs and never knew how to fix it. I really need help because there is no other good software for recording quality content. There is a hotkey defined in OBS settings->Hotkeys for starting/stopping the recording, and you pressed this key every few seconds, so OBS is starting and stopping the recording every few seconds.
