Bug Report Error: Texture->Map failed

Hey

After streaming a little while OBS crashed.
I got the following error:

Error: Texture->Map failed: 0x887a0005 0x887a0007

Your video card or driver froze and was reset. Please check for possible hardware / driver issues. This error can also occur if you have enabled opencl in x264 custom settings.

I tried to analyse the file and the first time got an error about using monitor caputer so I changed that to window capture. But again after a while streaming OBS crashed again. But then after analysing the file I didn't got any error's anymore. So now I don't know what the problem is. I checked my videocard drivers and they where all up to date.

I tried to look for other threads about this problem but couldn't find any real solutions.

Thanks
Kris

Unfortunately it's because there aren't many real solutions to this problem, the problem happens so rarely and randomly to people that I'm inclined to believe it has something to do with hardware issues, as much as you might not want to hear it. However I cannot conclusively say what specifically the cause it when this particular error does occur.

Your system at first glance seems like a decent system, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Also, make sure you use WHQL drivers and not beta nvidia drivers.

I have the same exact error description when my OBS crashes. It only happens when I play one game though, Kerbal Space Program. I think because KSP uses OpenCl in the map view.

My workaround for streaming KSP has been to use a capture card with OBS on another computer. That seems to work fine since that pc has no knowledge that I have OpenCl running.

I think it is a problem between opencl and x264. I tried using NVENC and it still crashed with the same error though.
