Question / Help Error Parsing X FIle

Hello, I have streamed like fine for a year but suddenly while trying to start OBS today ON MY BIRTHDAY it doesn't work anymore!
I was having an OK 21st birthday but then it got completely ruined with this obs crash because I was really looking forward to a birthday stream!

when I open obs it just says "error parsing x file" and some file name.
The problem is that it's the scenes file and I looked into it quicky with notepad and all the scenes but one seems to be gone and I put a lot of work into my scenes!

I have been streaming siriously every day for like a year and have 20-30 scenes with hours of work and effort put in them.
I tried to save the file to my desktop and then start the program again and it works but I have nothing left. many hours of blood sweat and tears went into making those scenes and I don't want all that to go away, much less on my birthday because it's now completely ruined.

is there any way I can fix this without loosing all my scenes?
Please I need help as soon as possible!!!

Edit: I looked into the file a little more and there's an HUGE chunk of just spaces where it seems more text should be but none of it is visible.

Damn that sucks. To stay safe in the future would regularly saving a backup of the appdata folder be enough or could files get corrupt in the installation folder too?

Generally file corruption only happens to files that are in use during a crash or power outage, so a backup of the OBS appdata folder should be safe.

Thank you for the response. I randomly happened across a horoscope today and it said that I should feel confident about trying something new today. So I guess I'll start working to build up some new scenes tomorow. Thanks for the help.
