Question / Help ERA Reverb Remover causes worse reverb.

Ravells

Hi everyone,

I've bought the ERA big bundle of filters from Accusonus which are readable in OBS. There is a youtube video which shows them working in OBS. I was particularly after the deverb filter (it's called reverb remover). Everything installed fine but when I record (I use OBS to make recordings not streaming) using the ERA filter it makes the reverb much worse. I tried using the ERA noise reducing filter and that caused reverb as well. I've attached an mp4 explaining what I mean. ::Edit:: Sorry looks like this site doesn't accept MP4 uploads. Click here to download it from my google drive.

I'm using a Samson CO1U condenser USB mic on Windows 10, 64-bit.

I've written an an email to ERA and am waiting for a reply but I just wondered if anyone has had this problem before and found a workaround. I've attached the log file. The MP4 I recorded using the ERA filter is time-stamped 10:30, so I guess the relevant material in the log file should be just before that.

Many thanks in advance!

Interesting. Have you tried the VST filter by itself within OBS? I noticed you have a noise gate before it -- normally for noise suppression effects, they work best with a clean signal. If you cut out low-volume information, it has nothing to work with.

I've just tried it. It still has the echo. I am going to try a fresh uninstall/reinstall of OBS to see if that helps.

Thank you so much for your help so far.

Hi carlmmii - it looks like the uninstall /reinstall has solved the problem. It may be that ERA was conflicting with something other filters? I don't know - but it works now! Thank you so much for your time and help, Carl!
