Bug Report ePSXe crash issues

After the update to v0.542b ePSXe crashes when running streaming. I noticed this issue was reported in the 52.07 in the development forum but I cannot find a solution posted for this version. If someone would terribly mind directing me to that fix or to an older version of OBS I'd really appreciated getting back to my let's play.

Hey can you let me know your settings/plugins for ePSXe and your settings for OBS (post a log file for this part)? I'll try to reproduce.

OBS Log document found thanks. ePSXe 1.8 yes using Petes OpenGL2 Driver 2.9.

Not sure what else is relevant besides the emulator crashes when I stream and try to escape or alt tab which occurs regardless of if I have stopped streaming. This didn't occur last week but I did just update tonight.

So it crashes when you hit escape to exit the emulator? Yeah, it was doing that for me as well when the stream was active. But if I stopped the stream and then hit escape to exit, it wouldn't crash.

As for alt tabbing, you may want to consider playing in some sort of windowed mode, as I'm don't really know of a workaround for that. I assume you are playing in fullscreen and then alt tabbing which minimizes the emulator, yes? This may be what's causing the crash, as the game stops actually rendering while minimized, potentially messing up the game capture hook, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty sure you can still play in windowed mode and keep your stream settings and not lose any quality because the internal resolution of the game isn't actually being changed.

I don't actually alt tab since there are video glitches that came from that. I'll try to stop the stream and escape again and hope it's just been bad luck on timing. Having just recently picked up a new microphone I'm testing settings now and the constant crashing is delaying progress towards that end.

Yeah, as long as you stop the stream first, you can safely escape and not crash. Did it about a dozen times just to make sure. Side note: you clued me in to some shader and filtering options that make stuff look better so...thanks for that haha

My luck isn't as good as yours it seems. I still crash after I stopped the stream. I waited to exit thinking perhaps it was compiling the recording but no luck it seems.

I installed older versions of OBS until I found one that didn't cause the crashing issue v0.522b did the trick and I'll just have to avoid any updates for the time being.

You mean 522b right? Anyway, will pass this on to the relevant people.

Small sidenote that just occurred to me: are your GPU drivers up to date?

Make sure to keep trying out updates though, I am still trying to fix the bugs with the new GL capture. (such as with the latest test build, 0.54.03, though I'm not sure if I've fixed it yet)

I'm having the similar problem but mine crashes during game play. epsxe crashes in ISO and CD-ROM running mode. In both cases, it'll case with a minute to 5 minutes have starting to record. Any thoughts? I'll try to post the settings soon.(i'm at work)
