Question / Help Entire Windows starts lagging when opening OBS Studio

Hello, today I updated OBS studio to the latest version there is (1.6. something) and as it did happen in the previous versions it started lagging my entire pc like crazy. Sometimes when I try to open the start menu it just freezes for a couple seconds before continuing again.

Windows Anniversary Update in some cases causes that start menu freezing.
In my case I solved it with free version:

I had to set again some file associations but now my Windows 10 runs smooth as silk.

but keep in mind that the fps drop on monitor starts when i open obs, not record or stream

I think log does not register any info for this case. As you say, fps drops when starts OBS.

So, I am thinking about your CPU
All cores active / unparked?

No cores were parked and DVR was disabled already.

Update: It only happens when I use "screencapture" when i switch to game capture the fps doesnt drop down

Game capture is the best option. Then Windows capture, then Screen Capture.
