Entire recorded file has no audio - random

Hi
Been using OBS just fine for a few months with same Magwell video capture card, and the ASIO input plugin for audio from Allen & Heath Mixer.
I record DJ sets.
Today I recorded a two hour set.
The whole time OBS appeared normal, the levels were showing fine.

I played back the file - complete silence.

First time this has every happened, I have some important recordings to make soon - I cannot afford for it to happen again.

Here is my log file:

As I said, this is probably the 100th recording I have made.

The 101st test recording had audio, I didn't restart OBS. All subsequent tests were fine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

From your log:
Code:
13:40:12.710: asio-input: No device is connected to the PC.
Make sure you also check the audio meter within OBS, not only the meter in your external mixer.

Thanks for reply.
It is the meter in OBS I meant.
What does it mean that the meters were moving - but that error is shown?

I don't know. It's the only thing in your log that may point to some issue (because it is probably asio where you get your audio in) but it may as well be completely irrelevant, if it also shows up for sessions where audio is recorded fine.
If the meter in OBS for the asio source is moving, I expect having audio in my video recording. I don't remember ever having a moving meter but no audio in my recordings, so I can only assume you made some human error. Perhaps there was a cable error (plug not connected properly). You have additional audio sources (Desktop Audio), so you saw perhaps (mistakenly) the desktop audio moving but the asio was silent.

Hi
I acknowledge the error - which is a bit bizarre.
There are no other meters to see that would be moving - I guess I made a mistake and will be vigilant next time. Kind of weird the ASIO device was not loaded, perhaps I started up OBS before I switched the mixer on ... I will triple check next time.
Thanks for your input - very helpful.
Cheers.
