Question / Help Encoding? WMV not recognising these files anymore

Hey i am completely new to recording and i usually use my boyfriends mac to screen record, however before then i used open broadcaster and i would record it then import it into windows movie maker with no issues at all it would work just fine just like that.
However more recently after i recorded i found it wouldnt work in windows movie maker and just gave an error message saying this file isn't compatible with wmv. I dont know if i've messed with the settings or something else but i would really appreciate some advice on what this issue could be! I tried to google it but i just gave up, it doesnt make sense to me. Really sorry if i havent given enough information, if so please tell me and i'll include it.

Post a log file from the recording you did that had this problem. If it happens every time, make a short recording and upload it to a file sharing site so we can check it on our own computers.

Also make sure you have Constant Frame Rate set to on / yes. Practically no video editing software can handle files with non-constant frame rate.
