Question / Help Encoding Overloaded but barely any cpu usage

Yeah, I'm also looking for a solution. I have an R9 380 GPU and thought that maybe it was the H264 encoder's fault. This has never happened before. I guess this also happens with NVIDIA GPUs? There is a forum here which explains that this may be caused by Windows 10 itself, but I'm not 100% sure if that is the cause. I'll let you know if my other thread gets answered :)

For OP's issue, turn off psycho visual tuning, as this leverages non-encoder GPU functionality that may or may not get the required prioritization compared to your game.

Also, update windows. You're on a version of windows that doesn't allow you to turn off game mode. Once you do, ensure game mode and any other windows gaming options are disabled.

I managed to fix mine. :D
I turned "Game Mode" off and works like a charm!

Sorry for the late reply, I will definitely try this! I have been wondering about this :)
so games in general seem to be running a lot better, however the issue with frame dropping in OBS persists. The main game that I am recording for this is Apex Legends. I'm not sure if it's just a poorly optimized game, but my frames in OBS always drop to around 40 or 35.
