Encoding Overload (Nvenc New)

Hi All,

Beginning of this week I started to notice The overload encoding error. This error would be periodic about every 10/15 minutes during the stream, only lasting for a split second. I find it strange as this has only just starting happening. I have also notice that my Frames missed/ skipped frames has increased to .2% over a 4 hours stream.

I'm streaming via an Elgato HD60 pro that my PS4 Is attached to. I uploaded the Log file for someone to look at and help if possile.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks Greg

1. The encoder is skipping frames because of CPU overload. Read about it at https://obsproject.com/wiki/General-Performance-and-Encoding-Issues
2. Your GPU is maxed out and OBS can't render scenes fast enough. Running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues with OBS because your GPU will be maxed out. OBS requires a little GPU to render your scene.

Enable Vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage.

If that's not enough you may also need to turn down some of the video quality options in the game. If you are experiencing issues in general while using OBS, your GPU may be overloaded for the settings you are trying to use.

Please check our guide for ideas why this may be happening, and steps you can take to correct it at https://obsproject.com/wiki/GPU-overload-issues
3. Killer's Firewall is known for it's poor performance and issues when trying to stream. Please download the driver pack from https://support.killernetworking.com/ , completely uninstall all Killer NIC items and install their Driver only package.

qHobbes, Thanks for the reply.

While streaming from my PS4 through the Elgato HD60 PRO, my GPU is Max 35% and CPU around 45%. I have not had this problem before but was strange that I all of a sudden getting it now.

Try turning off "Use hardware acceleration when available" in the Chrome settings.
