Myself and a few people I have spoken to have been experiencing an issue for the last couple of weeks with streaming on OBS. I've been streaming for a couple of years and have my fair share of experience with dropped frames, encoder overloads, recognising them and rectifying them. This issue is presenting itself differently and is not something I've encountered before.
I have minimal dropped frames (less than 1%) - It doesn't matter what game I play (issue experienced whilst playing Valheim, Tarkov and Hogwarts Legacy. There is no encoding overload. However, my encoding FPS (I believe that's what the number shown in the bottom right here is) would plummet from 60 down as low as 15 at points.
Any thoughts as to what is causing this? Log file attached and TIA for any help and advice!
