Encoder Overloaded Issue

Hello,

This is a weird problem given I don't see how it's possible.

I have a Ryzen 9 5950X, with 32GB RAM paired with a Nvidia 4090 RTX card. I'm using the NVENC encoder on P5/P6 settings at a 6000Kbps bitrate. I streamed for about 6 hours not a single issue but then all of a sudden started to lag and get encoding overloaded.

Checking everything including temps doesn't show anything different. 4090 sitting at a 35C highest seen was a 38C with only 20% utilization. CPU temps looked good and CPU is at 50% usage so no bottleneck issues.

Why all of a sudden am I getting encoding overloaded?

Later this evening I plan to run my logs through the log analyzer wondering if maybe through the updates and such maybe there's a bad setting somewhere. Maybe I need to reload my OBS?

Anyone else seen issues like this?

Same for me, brand new pc and i am getting remarkably low cpu usage around 0.1% in fact and then getting massive hitching/stutters

Make sure you have installed correctly the latest driver (the nvidia installer have an option for it under custom install) or do a clean install with thjis other method: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/performing-a-clean-gpu-driver-installation.65/
Make sure the OS is fully updated.

Please restart OBS and perform a test stream or recording or both, depending or your main purpose, of at least 30 seconds doing as you normally do, including playing games, full camera or whatever you normally do. Please do just one instance, not start, stop, sart, stop, start, stop.
Now look inside Help menu. Upload the current log file and paste the url to the log in here. Click on the Analize button to start troubleshooting common issues.
