Question / Help Elgato troubles

Hey guys, new here...after reading various articles, the official manual and watching some videos for setting up the elgato game capture HD...ive finally gotten it to record onto my secondary computer, which is a laptop. i played a few minutes of bioshock infinite just to test the quality of the recording out and i was impressed. HOWEVER, since the setup was finished my monitor that i use for the live gaming (a HP x20LED) an "Input Not Support" box has been floating around on the monitor. I can still record fine and everything seems to be working except for the floating box. ive tried restarting my computer and it's still there. from what ive read it may be a refresh issue with the monitor..someone said changing it to 75hz fixed it, but i cant access my monitor menu now...i never had to access the menu before so i dont even know if i can, REGARDLESS of the elgato setup.

i should also mention im using a gtx560 which only does dvi output and my monitor is also dvi in, i had to go to tigerdirect and buy two hdmi-dvi converters to use the elgato in the first place.

if you guys need any more information about my setup ill be happy to oblige...i just want this fixed...spent $170 on the elgato and 20 on the adapters...i really cant afford to buy a new video card (because my old 560 still works great for practically every game out now) and a new monitor....that'd be a few hundred on top of what i already spent for the elgato..

well i got the box to stop floating after holding down AUTO but as soon as the dvi/d-sub options disappear, the "input not support" comes back and starts floating around the screen again. holding down the -/+ buttons doesnt do anything and neither does the MENU button. im starting to think this monitor doesnt like the dvi->hdmi->dvi
