Just to add to the ever-growing list of varying, possible solutions...

I had this issue but only starting last week (without having changed any settings). Having done some digging today (and upgrading to Windows 11 in the meantime - not sure if that's relevant to why this solution works at all) I found the way I could get rid of the crackle was in three changes.

First two are in the Elgato capture's properties (see image below):
1. I changed 'Resolution/FPS Type' from "Device Default" to "Custom" and set 'Resolution' to 1920x1080 manually
2. Disabled the 'Buffering' option

Not sure if it's relevant that my 'Audio Output Mode' is "Capture aduio only" here as well.

Third and final change was to go into the Advanced audio properties. My Elgato device in there has its 'Audio Monitoring' set to "Monitor and Output", so the change I made here was to change it to "Monitor Off" and back again to "Monitor and Output".

Not sure why the last thing made a difference, maybe it refreshes the audio input stream, but it definitely had an effect. To verify this I then went back into the device properties, reverted the resolution type setting then put it back to custom again and sure enough, the crackling didn't go away until I once again effectively off/on'd the audio monitoring for the Elgato device.

Hope this helps someone else!

EDIT: In case it's relevant, I was on v27.2.3 at the time the issue started occurring, I have since updated to v27.2.4 - the issue still persisted on 27.2.4 but I don't know if the fix for me would also work on earlier versions

Changing the "audiodg.exe" process settings in the Task Manager may help.

1. Open the Task Manager as an administrator (right-click in Start Menu then Run as Administrator)
2. Select the "Details" tab along the top
3. Find the "audiodg.exe" process and right-click it (note: if you can't see this process, you haven't opened the Task Manager as an administrator, go back to step 1).
4. Set the priority of "audiodg.exe" to "High"
5. Set the affinity of "audiodg.exe" to a single core e.g. CPU 2

Hello,

There's many threads about this on reddit and a couple on this forum (for example this) but no concrete solution.

The issue is as follows:
Using an Elgato HD60 Pro on a 1080p setting, the audio crackles/pops in OBS even when just previewing the output. Recording/streaming is not needed. As soon as the resolution is changed to 720p, the issue is gone. However, when using the Elgato software, no such issue occurs.

Here is an example clip of 1080p60: https://streamable.com/ilbic
And the accompanying log: https://pastebin.com/4aM3qgDn

And here is an example clip of 720p60: https://streamable.com/d8kes
And the accompanying log: https://pastebin.com/DBACPRTN

As can be seen, previewing/streaming/recording in 720p shows none of the issues as opposed to 1080p. And using the Elgato Game Capture software, no audio crackle/pop occurs at all regardless of the resolution.

I've had this issue for months now, and would really like to see this solved. I will happily provide any additional info.
It seems that you are experiencing audio crackle and pop issues when using the Elgato HD60 Pro on a 1080p setting in OBS. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Update your drivers and OBS software: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Elgato Game Capture software, OBS Studio, and your graphics card driver. Outdated drivers or software might cause compatibility issues, which can lead to audio problems.
  2. Change the audio sample rate: In OBS, go to 'Settings' > 'Audio' and change the sample rate to 48 kHz (if it's set to 44.1 kHz) or vice versa. This can help resolve audio crackle issues in some cases.
  3. Disable any unnecessary audio devices: In OBS, go to 'Settings' > 'Audio' and disable any audio devices that are not being used for your current setup. This can reduce potential conflicts between devices.
  4. Adjust buffering settings: In the Elgato Game Capture software, go to 'Settings' > 'Device' > 'Advanced' and try adjusting the audio buffering settings (e.g., increasing the buffer size). This might help with audio crackle issues.
  5. Use a different USB port or PCI-E slot: Sometimes, the issue might be related to the USB port or PCI-E slot you are using for the Elgato HD60 Pro. Try connecting the capture card to a different USB port or inserting it into another PCI-E slot on your motherboard.
  6. Check your system resources: Monitor your system resources (CPU and RAM usage) while streaming or recording to ensure that your system is not being overtaxed. Overloading your system can cause audio and video issues.
If none of these solutions work, you can try reaching out to Elgato support for further assistance.

As for the link to our page, you can include it at the end of your answer like this:

A lot of streaming platforms like Cinema HD, Filmplus, TutuApp supports perfect streaming without any issues. Try out these as well.

As far as I know, some streaming and decoder setting issues must exist. I was facing some issues on cinema hd and had to tweak some decoder settings and now streaming is pretty smooth.

Using the Cinema HD Apk, users may choose any movie and download it on their phone or tablet. Users will have the opportunity to choose the download path before storing the item to their device. Even without an online connection, you may watch the downloaded movies and TV shows. On the other hand, you may use external video players to watch the downloaded content.
