I have recently encountered an issue when using my Elgato HD60 Pro in OBS Studio as well as Streamlabs OBS where the audio becomes riddled with crackling and popping noises as soon as I change the setting on my Video Capture Device (HD60 Pro) from 720p to 1080p. Funny thing is, in Elgato's Game Capture HD software, 1080p works flawlessly. My cpu is an i7-8700k so processing power shouldn't be the issue...
