So I use an Elgato HD60 to stream my PC games using my Laptop. Looking at OBS as I stream, I get no frame drops and my internet is fine. I literally just swapped in my new Elgato HD60 in place of my Avermedia LGP. The LGP did not have this stutter issue. Every 3 or so seconds, it will hiccup both audio and video for less than a second. Not sure what I can do to solve this? I already like my Elgato more than my Avermedia, and the Avermedia never got a fix for the audio/video desync issue that was fixed on this Elgato HD60.

Just trying to figure out whats up. You guys can help me by looking at my log and pitching ideas. My driver is the latest beta driver, 32bit, and I use the 32bit OBS.

Thanks in advance. If you guys need anything else, like a video, let me know and i will try to get to it asap.

Yeah, considering USB ethernet adapter + USB Capture card + USB Webcam + USB headsets?

Don't use that script link to link logs.

What do you mean by script link?

Just disconnected all of my USB devices leaving only the Elgato and still doing it.
could you go to your laptops website and see if they have recommended drivers for your chipset? might have to disable win10 from auto-updating those as well.

Also, see if you can set the elgato to 1ms buffer in the video capture device properties in OBS. I know its forcing to 1ms, just want to make sure.

Audio Format: 48000 Hz

also, check all your input and output devices and make sure the audio format in windows recording and playback devices are set to 48000Hz. you can find this under advanced for each device.

I installed the chipset drivers on Razers site, and I enabled 1ms buffer in my OBS under the capture device properties. I checked on all my input/output audio devices to check their Hz and sure enough some were not at 48000, so I changed accordingly.

Unfortunately, the issue has persisted.

Here is a video, skip to 2:20 so you can see the stuttering I am referring to. This video was done after getting the chipset drivers from the Razer site, adjusting all audio input/output to 48000Hz, and changing buffering to 1ms.
EDIT: I see the issue. it definitely seems like the issue with the elgato drivers I've seen, but i cant be sure without the log. try two more things,
1. reverse the hdmi cable. both ends are identical, its just something I do to ensure the cable doesn't have an end that doesn't like either side.
2. while the elgato is plugged in and OBS and elgato software off, go to device manager (right click start) and right click on the elgato and uninstall, removing the driver with it (its the checkbox after you click uninstall).
then uninstall the driver in programs and features. reboot then reinstall the driver. make sure windows isn't auto updating your drivers which is new in windows 10.

Do you have a new log to go along with that?
how many USB 3.0 ports do you have. if only 1 use the elgato on that port. Your laptop doesn't have an ehternet port? if is does, use that instead of the ethernet adapter.

Just reversed the HDMI, and did a clean driver install step by step as you noted, and it still continues.

My laptop does not have an ethernet port, but I just did this log with the Ethernet adapter, Mic, webcam, and mouse all disconnected. Only thing connected was the Elgato HD60.

Buffer is still set to 1ms

For further clarification, the Avermedia LGP that I was using never had these stutters, used the same cables/setup, with all USB ports being used. Only issue my Avermedia had was audio/video desync which I could never find a solution for.

My Laptop has 3 USB 3.0 ports.

Dont know if this is relevant, but the stutter also occurs in OBS preview.

If I cant solve this issue, then I might have to go back to the Avermedia and return this Elgato. The Elgato doesnt have the audio video desync that the Avermedia has, but it has stuttering through the stream which is a worse problem in my opinion. At the very least with the Avermedia, if I switch scenes, the audio/video desync is eliminated since the capture source is being refreshed. I will just have to deal with that.

@LtRoyalShrimp are there any issues with the elgato and optimus?

Well you can definitely put you set down as having the stuttering issue, but your seems to be in sync with time, not whats happening on the stream. Others I've seen have had it happen during scene changes mainly.
