Question / Help Elgato HD sound issues

Hello! I'm new both here and to streaming, so bare with me.

I'm using the Elgato GC HD with my PS4 and OBS and have a few issues with sound.
First off, the game sound is not coming through to OBS (or twitch), only my microphone.
Second, the audio from my microphone seem to repeat itself every 5-10 seconds? So whatever I say will be repeated a few seconds after I hear it the first time, then a few seconds after that etc etc. The volume seems to go down slightly with every repeat. I may have fixed this, but I'm not sure how. Does anyone know what would cause it?

I followed these tips while setting up: https://twitchtips.com/elgato-game-capture-hd-obs/

Some info:
50mbps down
15mbps up

i7-4790
Geforce GTX 980 Ti
16 GB RAM
win 10
mic: Samson GoMic

Thanks,
Norm

18:51:47: Using desktop audio input: Høyttalere (2- Samson GoMic)
18:51:47: Global Audio time adjust: 0
18:51:47: ------------------------------------------
18:51:47: Using auxilary audio input: Mikrofon (2- Samson GoMic)
18:51:47: Mic time offset: 1500

your desktop audio input is set to your mic. your mic by default has a 1500ms delay so there is probably your issue. OR your watching your own stream, which could also be the issue.

I would check what audio device is setup in the video capture device properties of your elgato in OBS.

Thanks for your reply. The audio from my mic kept repeating though. Not just once from watching my stream, but 4-5 times at least.
I got the game sound thanks to your tip, but there's a delay now that I can't seem to fix with changing audio sync offset in the source properties in OBS. Should I have output audio to stream only, or output audio to desktop? Does the sync offset edit both or just to stream only?
If I change to "stream only", I can't hear anything in the stream preview, meaning I have to actually start streaming to twitch and then listen to it there, or am I wrong? I'd like to have it configured before going live.

Thanks

Edit: Actually, game sound is gone again. I eliminated the echo by lowering the speaker volume in the main OBS window, I'm not sure why it kept repeating. Having the volume up did NOT give me game sound. The current desktop audio input in Settings is my headset.

there is two offsets you can use. mic offset and global offset (global being everything else). output to stream only I would assume,

Offset would mean... the higher the offset, the later the sound, right? I'm getting some delay on my webcam, but that may be because it's old and, well, bad.

Fixed the game sound issue though. Turns out I can't use my Sony wireless headset while streaming. Seems like it interrupts the sound signal that would otherwise go (through the elgato) to the TV.

Hey, I did say I was new to this :D
