Question / Help Elgato File Output Lag

Hey I recently got an Elgato game capture HD so I could record gamecube/n64/older consoles.

When I record with OBS, there's about a 1.4 second delay, which I found on the OBS website. I was just wondering if there's a way to fix this so I don't have to change the audio/facecam lag depending on which console I'm using at the time. I have 8gb ram, I7 processor, 3.5ghz so I know it's not a hardware issue

As long as you're using the elgato it will ALWAYS be a 1.4s delay.

If you use obs studio, it's easier to adjust the offsets for elgato vs not elgato.

So I have another problem now. Testing with Paper Mario: TTYD on gamecube, there's is a lot of choppiness during loading screens/lots of activity visuals. I've tried lots of different settings but I'm not sure what would be the best way to fix this. Thanks for any advice
