Elgato FaceCam - 99% CPU

Just got he new Elgato FaceCam. I previously used the C920. It worked find on Preset High (Full Screen Cam) streaming at 1080p/60fps. Plug in the new FaceCam and no matter which preset I choose from full to 320! it drives my CPU to 100% - I remove the camera all together stream goes right back to normal.

Other Mac users who have the FaceCam and know a fix for this, or have had this experience and couldn't use it?

I'm on a 2021 M1 MacBook Pro (base) and I just ordered a replacement Elgato Facecam, assumed mine was defective. Unsure about CPU usage but video was very choppy regardless of resolution or FPS. Lighting was more than sufficient for my Logitech C922x so that shouldn't have been an issue. Will report back when replacement arrives.

+1 - I'm seeing the same thing with an M1 Macbook Pro. FaceCam runs plenty smooth when using Elgato's Camera Hub, but OBS has a heart attack. I even tried installing an ARM-optimized M1 Build of OBS Studio from GitHub, but that didn't solve this either. Anyone solve this yet?
