Hello,

I'm interested to see if there is a way to configure OSB to capture video from Elgato Capture "https://www.elgato.com/en/video/video-capture". I know this is a gaming recording tool but I'm more interested in local recording functionality.

The problem I have is that I see the device and it seems it get's signal but when I try to preview I don't get any video.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Thank you.

Does it work in Elgato's own software? It needs DirectShow drivers to work as a video capture device in OBS, and I'm not sure any exist for this device.

Yes, it works just fine on the Elgato's own software, and yes, I did install the DirectX SDK, I can't remember what required it - the Elgato software or OBS installer.

BTW I'm using the composite connector not S-Video - not sure if that matters. But I don't have an option in OBS to switch in between them.

I don't think it is used anywhere else. I even restarted the computer and OBS was the first app I used after login

Is there any logging I can enable to see what happens?

Elgato Capture device had to inputs the S-Video and Composite can this play a role in this?

The "Open Crossbar" button is disabled but it seems that VirtualDub uses the crossbar to select the correct input.

I found the "Crossbar Thing 0.01", it lists three devices, in this order:
1. Elgato Video Capture Crossbar
2. Integrated Webcam
3. Elgato Video Capture

device 1 is configured correctly, just like in VirtualDub but it's not listed in OBS - is this expected?

I used the composite input, not the s-video.
