Question / Help Elgato Audio Stuttering And Video Jumping On OBS While Recording/Streaming!

In the logs it shows the Elgato device running at 1920x1080, yet in the picture you uploaded it says you're forcing it to 720x480. Please don't use the custom res box. Any resolution adjustments can be made in the Elgato device control panel.

  1. Activate the preview
  2. Open the Elgato device properties
  3. Click on configure
Also, where it says "Buffering" keep that checked and enter a 1. What type of compute is the device connected to? Stuttering can happen if there are USB bandwidth issues, say you have a webcam and the elgato device plugged into the ports next to eachother.

The reason why I was forcing it down is to match the OBS output resolution, I have unchecked the custom resolution on the Elgato and used the control panel instead.

The buffering was always checked but was set as 0, I tried setting it to 1 there. If you mean the Elgato it's connected to a Lenovo laptop, in terms of the webcam I use the built in one on my laptop and the Elgato is in a USB 2.0 socket as instructed.

The stuttering is still happening unfortunately though.

two schools of thought.

1. set base resolution to 1920x1080 and downscale to 360p
2. without a dedicated gpu, downscaling if any type is going to cause issues in the video thread. I'm assuming you do not have switchable graphics where you have both iGPU from intel and dGPU from nVidia...If not, then expect issues.

Ok I've done the resolution settings you recommended for OBS and it's stuttering just as usual. It actually doesn't matter what settings I put things to it always seems to have the same amount of stuttering ranging from both higher to lowest settings. Obviously I'm not going to put everything to highest as that would cause high encoding which isn't present with my current settings.

No I only have an Intel graphics card sadly.
