Question / Help Elgato audio stuttering after upgrade to 0.13.1

Hi Jim,

Hauppauge Colossus 2 user here. Getting the same audio stuttering problem. It starts fine at first, but after about 3-5 minutes the sound goes bonkers. Also, if you stop the stream and restart, the problem still persists. I have to COMPLETELY restart my computer to reset the issue, but then again, after 3-5 minutes the sound starts stuttering again. That's as far as I got before I just downgraded to 0.12.3.

Hopefully this issue is resolved soon. I really liked the new features of Studio.

I've just about isolated the problem. I'll release a hotfix for you guys (0.13.2) when fully fixed and tested.

Hello people and thanks Jim for the hotfix, sadly, it doesn't seem to work out for me.
Still the same result for me, 0.13.2 has the stuttering audio with my LGPLite as 0.13.1, while 0.12.3 is just fine. Using Stream Engine on 32bit or normal LGP Driver on 64 bit won't make a difference.

(showing the difference between the versions, same setup)
If I can help debugging, I will gladly help with this one.

Hi TreZc0_ - seems others have reported what appears to be a separate issue with the LGP, where as I had only tested with the elgato for 0.13.2 and made the incorrect assumption that it was the same issue. If you have time, come by the chat and ping me by messaging me or saying my name. I'll try to check on my end as well if I'm able.

There was an issue with the avermedia stream engine -- I updated the 0.13.2 installers/zips with that fix, so if the avermedia stream engine is causing you issues just redownload and reinstall the program.

I tried it and it works just fine now, the stuttering is gone. Sadly now the audio delay is there again and keeps getting worse over time (went to like 3 seconds delay over the course of 40 minutes). I don't know if thats just related to the timestamps issue.

Edit: I actually rewatched the vod. Seems like the audio was just fine till I rebooted the console once, after that it got delayed. Maybe this helps tracking down the issue somehow.

Tried the update last night. Audio stuttering is finally gone! I haven't messed around with it too much though, but I will have more time later this week to really get into it. Thanks Jim!

It's still stuttering on the 64-bit version of Elgato and OBS for me.

Update: 32-bit is doing the same thing. Also on version 0.12.3 of OBS so I think it's definitely an Elgato problem now.

Additionally, I uninstalled and re-installed my Elgato drivers to make sure it wasn't a bad install or something, then it crashed my PC as I was uninstalling the HD drivers, and now HD60 drivers will install, but not the regular HD drivers.

All and all, I'm getting to the breaking point here. I had everything working just fine until I decided to test the 0.13.2 update and now I'm absolutely at my wits' end.

It can't be an Elgato issue because they haven't updated their drivers since the release of 0.13.*. Their latest non-beta driver 3.00.117 has been out for a while.

I would like to bring this thing back up again. The latest OBS Studio versions all have the same heavy audio stuttering again when using my LGP (lite).
Jim brought in a fix last time, was this removed in the meantime (cause it actually was just a workaround) and could we get that back?

Try setting OBS's sample rate to 48kHz. It could be that the audio, coming from the Elgato at 48kHz, while being downsampled to 44.1kHz is being messed up.

I know this post is 4 years old. However, Google found it. I want to pay it forward and let you know that I have spent damn near 4 hours trying to get this Elgato Sound Fixed through OBS. This one tiny simple fix actually solved it. You fixed a world of headache for me and I want to thank you!
