Question / Help El Gato Dropping Frames in local recording?

Basically my problem is in the title, I have no idea what the problem is, this is for home recording I have tried a bunch of different settings. So my problem is that depending on what settings I put it on, the video will be recording with no fame skips or anything for about 5-8 seconds then all of a sudden it will skip around and everything will become choppy for a few seconds and then return back to normal for about another 5 seconds and then become choppy again. Ive tried extremely low settings and still have that problem. Basically I would like some suggestions to maybe fix the problem. Here are two videos, One is raw El gato footage using the el gato capture program, seems to work flawlessly:

(Keep in mind neither of these videos have been re rendered in any external programs just recorded and then uploaded directly)
EL Gato Program Test:

And here is my test in OBS:
(the skips that im talking about happen pretty random throughout the video some of the more notable ones being at around the 0:45 Mark and the 1:15 mark) they are by no means terrible im just wondering why it isnt playing smoothly especially for a basic local recording compared to the upload using the el gato capture program. Thanks in advance for any feedback/help/advice to maybe tweak my settings to its optimal quality.

here is my log:

A few problems here.

- You're streaming at 1080p but your Elgato only outputs at 720p in OBS. You should lower your base resolution to 1280x720 under Settings > Video.

- Buffering is not enabled on your Elgato. Double-click on its video capture source and check the "Use Buffering" box. You can leave the value at 0ms.

- If you're only making local recordings and not streaming, follow the instructions at https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

Thanks for the reply, I messed up and left the video at 1080p output but i followed the rest of the instructions for the local recording thread you linked me and 1000 bitrate looks horrible lol you can chck it out here
. I will now reupload in 720p output with what you told me to do i will post that here as soon as its done uploading.

this video is with everything you told me, it still isnt that smooth. I changed the bit rate back to 10000. Any other ideas?

If you don't follow all of the instructions at the thread I linked then yes, it will look terrible. You're also supposed to set a custom buffer size of 0. Go read the thread again. :)

Edit: The "OBS 25" video you linked looks perfectly smooth to me. Perhaps there's a playback issue on your end of things?
