Question / Help Editors don't recognize files.

OBS was recommended to me as a free program to record videos to upload to youtube. I have since recorded a couple of videos but the editors I have tried have issues with the files. Sony Vegas only recognizes the audio on the video windows movie maker loads a 7 second timeline with error symbols in it. I have checked the videos themselves, they open fine with VLC, audio and video is fine. Does anyone have any ideas? So far the only other thing I could think of is to convert the file format which I have changed to AVI and it still does not work.

record in FLV and afterwards use File > Remux recordings to get an MP4 file. This should import fine in Vegas.
AVI is not specified to include H.264 video streams with AAC audio.

Windows Movie Maker does not support AAC audio and cannot be used for OBS recordings.
