Question / Help Editing videos made by OBS

First off my situation is that I only have a 1mb upload rate so I'm unable to stream.I have been recording some of my game plays and uploading to YouTube. Now my question is how can I edit my videos but keep the file sizes small. For example my original video is 17 mins long with a file size of 520mb which isn't that bad at all. But if I put the video into say cyberlink power director and don't make any changes to the video even the smallest export opinion is still twice the size it may go to over 1gb.

That topic is too vast to be discussed here; it is related to video encoding and using the proper codecs and settings and what not.

As a general guide watch this video -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciIHfUOn8Xw -- interpret the information, do not take it and try and copy it but instead interpret it and learn from it. Also, do a Google search for 'video encoding tutorial'. It's a very exhaustive topic, one that other sites cover, have covered and will cover time and time again. No need to go into it in great detail here.
