Question / Help Echo Issue

For a couple of weeks now I haven't been able to use OBS because of an echo from my mic. I've tried to do fresh installs and everything but I can't figure it out. It doesn't happen in any other software but only in OBS.

When I talk into the mic about 1 second later it comes back across my speakers.

I've removed and disabled all of my audio devices so I know its only my Yeti mic but I can't figure out why it is doing that.

Can someone help?

Check that in Advanced Audio Properties your mic is not set to "monitor and output" but rather just 'output"

Check in Settings > Advanced that your monitoring device is not set to your speakers. You do not want to be using loudspeakers as a monitor in the same room with your mic, generally speaking.

Then OBS is not causing your echo. I would look in the Windows audio settings or any other audio apps you might be running to see if they are echoing your mic to the speakers. Or just turn the speakers off.

It only happens in OBS, not SLOBS, xsplit or any other program. It has to be OBS. If it were windows it would be doing it in other programs

It was definitely something with OBS. I deleted my settings folder and it fixed the problem. I have to rebuild all my scenes and sources but no echo now.
