I've encountered a problem by streaming the game "Dying Light".

I dont know how to fix it honestly. I tried different settings, resolution downscale and such but it doesnt really help much.

ive uploaded a few performance videos on twitch so some1 can see it and maybe help.
this is one: https://www.twitch.tv/thebastian1989/v/88388503

These are my current OBS settings:

the problem is not the game lag, i dont lag ingame, i mean the game itself doesnt lag, not even when iam streaming. Its the stream that laggs like hell.

Ive got an:

Processor:AMD FX-8350 8x 4.0GHz
Mainboard:MSI 970 Gaming AMD 970
Memory:16GB OC DDR3-RAM @2133MHz (2x 8GB)
Grafikkarte:GeForce GTX980 4096MB (DVI/HDMI/DP)

Thats the last logfile:

13:13:36: Total frames encoded: 254865, total frames duplicated: 2216 (0.87%)
13:13:36: Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 400 (0.16%)
13:13:36: Total frames rendered: 254364, number of late frames: 372 (0.15%) (it's okay for some frames to be late

This actually isn't terrible to most people. Duplicated frames is less than 1% which is my rule of thumb for good or bad stuttering.

You should set the base resolution to the actual monitor resolution and then use a downscale to bring it down to 720p. Use bicubic or bilinear downscaling.

Other than that I don't see anything wrong with the settings. How are you determining that the stream lags like hell? Does the VOD lag like hell after you're done streaming? During your stream? Are other viewers saying it lags like hell? It looks like it isn't due to duplicated frames so this leads me to believe that your bitrate is too high for some viewers and its buffering for them. In that case lower your bitrate or tell them to upgrade their internet connection.

It happens while i stream, that it laggs like hell. Also when i check the stream i can clearly see it stuttering and others also tell me the same. They have pretty good internet connection as do i, so ...

It's really weird, i also doubt it is because of win 10, there's not much difference between 7 and 10.

Check the VOD and if it isn't there, then its a download bandwidth issue. If it is there, then there's something else going on.

Seems like i've solved that problem. If anyone still got it or is interested, change your file path in the broadcast settings to flv at the end if you have it in another format.

Also make sure to have your latest grapic card drivers updated. For Geforce it's the version 375.57, in case theres still a problem, change your encoding settings in obs from x264 to Nvidia NVENC.

This should fix it, i mean i even stream with a bitrate of 5000 now.
