Question / Help DX9 works DX11 doesn't

So after a long time trying to figure out why I was getting black screen recording on my r9 290x with windows8.1

I discover its DX11, for some reason DX11 causes a black screen recording but I can hear sound, has anyone encountered this odd behavior?

Ok after further testing, it appears I can record when in fullscreen window mode, so crisis adverted, still very odd that FULLSCREEN mode causes black screen recording, perhaps a bug in the OBS software that has been overlooked because majority of people are already running in Windows mode or dx9 (thus no flux of complaints)?
