I'm simply transferring VHS tapes to Mp4 files, using the DVR capture device sent to me by designtweaks, and directing me to OBS. Everything loaded & operates fine, except the audio gradually falls behind (and is in mono, but I'll address that on another thread). I'm rerouting the audio to a mixer for EQ (Yamaha AW1600), so I expect some normal audio latency of around 15-20 ms. However, as little as 5 minutes in, the soundtrack is falling noticeably behind the video feed, and gradually widens. By the time the playback reaches an hour, the differential is more like a full second, rendering it unviewable. I even tried a test run w/o the audio going to the mixer, but no difference. I tried using the synch offset function in 'Advanced Audio Properties', but it didn't make a difference either. I did note however, that by closing and reopening OBS, the synch was back to normal, and does so at any point in the VHS tape playback.
I'm still not well educated on most things IT, but I believe the 'dropped frame' issue only applicable to live streaming and not recording, thus that wouldn't be the issue here- so what could be causing a gradually increasing lag of audio from a VHS tape? I'm using an HP and Windows 8, btw.
~Thanks!
