During recording (Window capture) it suddenly records a blank/black screen for a few seconds

This is a worry because it can happen anytime, so you have to scrub the whole video to make sure it didn't do this.

Windows 10
AMD Catalyst card?

Reproduce:
1.Timed record (about 30 mins)
2. WINDOW capture
3. Start a video in Chrome
4. Hit record in OBS

Watch the video back and suddenly a few minutes in it records a blank screen (with audio) for a few seconds.
FWIW the timing does not coincide with my energy savings settings turning off the screen (which I've now increased the time of anyway)

Any ideas?

ALSO: PROGRAM TO QUICKLY SHOW ME BLANK SECTIONS?

Also helpful: recco for an app that will quickly show my video as an overview-film-strip so I can quickly spot any blank sections.
I tried Premiere Rush and Pro and it didnt seem to do this.
(Also they wont load MKV)

RE FILMSTRIP VIEW - how to do it in Premiere (and see blank areas)

Answering my SECOND question (only):

1. WRENCH menu > 'show video thumbnails'
2. HAMBURGER menu > 'continuous video thumbnails'
3. Expand track height enough to show them
4. Probably need to decrease size of the moving bar at the bottom to see the right time-length of the clip. Even a fairly large bar though will still show you a black/blank sequence of a few seconds. Example: a 30 minute clip will take about 90 seconds to scrub thru
5. To scrub thru easily, use mouse wheel.

SOLVED - Partially. HOW TO FIX?

I found out it does this when you go to another app (in this case, Firefox).**

This doesn't make sense because I told it to capture CHROME, nothing else.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

** Of course that might not be the ONLY cause

Best to record video in Firefox**, browse in Chrome

SOLVED - a bit more

I've determined that if you record in Firefox, you can browse in chrome without the screen going blank as described above.
