I've recently purchased the AverMedia Live Gamer HD (C985) and need some help with the audio for OBS.
I need to be able to play games at my monitors refresh rate @ 144hz, and since I'm using a very cheap Acer monitor for that, the only way I'm able to achieve the 144hz is with dual link DVI. Which isn't a problem, but I think this is where my issues with audio is coming in. I've tried cloning the screen via HDMI and having my streaming monitor take from the cloned screen, rather than my 144hz monitor. I did this because I thought it would give the streaming PC audio, but I was obviously mistaken.
I am able to get the video via the cloned screen, I just need to figure out how to get audio and my microphone to go though to OBS on my streaming computer.
Here are my specs
Gaming PC:
AMD 8350 (4.2Ghz)
GTX 680
EVGA 650 watt PSU
Blue Yeti Microphone
Razer Kraken Chroma headset
Streaming PC:
AMD 6300 (3.6Ghz)
AMD Radeon 7770
AverMedia Game Capture HD (C985)
So here's what I have going on now:
I have my main monitor (running at 144hz) connected to my gaming computer. Then, I have my second monitor connected to my capture card (it's running like a pass-through, so I can get video without hindering my 144hz monitor) and my third monitor connected to the streaming PC. So far, video has not been an issue. Audio is what's giving me a headache. I've tried plugging the audio out (from my gaming PC) to the audio in (in the streaming computer, NOT the AverMedia) and got nothing. After that, I tried connecting audio out (from my gaming computer) to my AverMedia card in the streaming computer, and still nothing. So, as a last stride, I tried connecting my blue yeti (via 3.5mm out) to the streaming PC with AND without the capture card, and got my voice, but it was so horribly unbearable to listen to via my stream that I concluded that wouldn't work.
On top of that, I've tried VAC's, and they do work, but only for my voice. I need to also have game audio there as well, and so far, I've seen no solution for that.
Hopefully someone here has a similar set-up that I do, and could assist me in this frustrating process.
If you need anymore information about the set up, just tell me.
Thanks in advance!
