Question / Help Dual PC audio through HDMI stopped working

Hi,

I have a dual PC setup with a normal HDMI passthrough of audio with stereo mix listen in.

I launched rainbow six siege and my screen flicked quite a bit, as my elgato 4k 60 pro (and most capture cards) always have flickering problems while alt tabbing and changing between fullscreen etc.

When Siege launched my audio stopped work through HDMI and it now pops and crackles in OBS on the streaming PC full-time, my audio just doesn't work, only pops and crackles.

Disabling the mirroring of my screens fixes the audio, however you cannot see the screen of course..so it seems to be a software issue with windows maybe?

Still not fixed despite it being a basic setup.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Personally, I put a sound card in my capture PC and send the audio separately. Use two splitters, one for the digital out and one for the analog out, depending on if I'm using my speakers or headphones (one end to what I hear and the other to the encoding PC's sound card).
