I still own a Xsplit License but i got tired of Xsplit resource consumption so i switched to OBS.
Now my problem is, honestly .. my computer is good enough to stream, don't come with the "i5 / i7 for a reason bro .." story.
My SPECS Resumed :
CPU : Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition OC'ed @ 3.73 Ghz ( All cores ( 6 ) are active and i can push way more but i don't want to risk it )
RAM : 8GB 1600Mhz ( 2x4 ) Gskill Ripjaw X
Board ( if relevant ): ROG Asus Crosshair IV Formula
GPU: MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr II 2GB OC
Connection : 100 Down / 8 Up
I've been searching all over the internet, xsplit forums, obs forums, tried several quality balances, several bitrates, several resolutions, even changed x264 preset from default ( veryfast ) to superfast, tried custom x264 settings taken from obs forums, nothing seems to work.
I'm not a heavy game streamer, i just play some games like Smite, Diablo III, Team Fortress 2, osu! ( rhythm game ), maybe LoL or Dota2 if i ever can get my stream working properly. Been streaming as a hobby for 2years now and there wasnt a day that i didnt drop frames.
I don't believe on websites like testmy.net or speedtest for upload calculations, even if i cant get full 8up still it should be enough to not drop frames.
I used to stream with a 1.5up connection and upgraded to a 8up connection yet i'm still streaming with super low bitrates because if i get any higher i drop frames like a madman.
I'm Streaming to the UK, London ( Secondary ) server because i reside in portugal and according to jtvping application its the server i get better latency and jitter.
If anyone with similar specs can stream without any problems and would like to help, then i'd be glad to hear from you. i really enjoy streaming but it's getting frustrating playing around with settings so many times and they just simply won't work for me.
I usually stream with quality 5 ( no i'm not joking ) at 2000kbps and @ 720p 30fps ( drops frames ), if i get any higher than 5 and get the bitrate higher it drops even more ..., i've tried CBR ( drops frames like x10 more )
OBS estimator says to stream at 480p ( are you serious? ) but that my upload is enough for 1080p ..
I'm sorry for the "raging moment" text, but im getting really frustrated with this. Any advice from experts would be really appreciated, Thank you.
