Dropping frames/Laptop overheating when using OBS

I just want to know if my laptop is too weak to handle what I'm trying to do. I just use obs to livestream reaction videos on YouTube, and I've gone up to 98% frames dropped sometimes. I don't know how to adjust the settings in my OBS to match my laptop specs if even possible

We'd need to see a logfile from a recording session where the issue occurred to be able to tell definitively, screenshots will not give the info needed. There's a pinned thread at the top of this forum with instructions on how to produce a usable troubleshooting logfile.

Per pinned post in this forum You screen shots don't show model, CPU, and other critical details.. so no idea which Dell system that is from.
If you have an older U series laptop CPU, then you will need to really dial down the OBS settings to have a reliable recording/stream. if too old, then you will struggle to get real-time video encoding working on the laptop
