Question / Help Dropping Frames Despite 89Mbps Upload Speed

Hi,

Firstly, here is my download/upload speeds:

Currently I'm starting a Twitch stream (for Final Fantasy XIV) and was noticing that I had an excessive amount of frame rate drops when I set my 'Max Bitrate (kb/s)" to 2000 which I imagined would be sufficient considering my high upload speeds.

The lowest I can set my "Max Bitrate (kb/s)" to without dropping any frames is 700. At that bitrate my stream's quality drops significantly. I was wondering if there is anything else that's causing this? I have already tried the TwitchTest to find the best suitable server to use which was Miami, FL (I live in Florida so that's no surprise).

Here are my OBS settings:

Specs:

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
CPU - Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4 GHz
RAM - 8.0 GB
OS - Windows 10 Home

Any advice would be a godsend. Thanks.

Shot in the dark, are you streaming over wifi or a powerline adapter?

Post a logfile from the Help menu (just 'upload' and paste the link here), it may have more information.

Server congestion, network fluctuation, bad routing path, infrastructure failure... lots of potential causes, and few in your control.

This says your connection is unstable as heck, and is super fits-and-starts; only actually sending data every 2 seconds or so. Could be your modem/router (try power cycling it) or could be something on the ISP side. But even though you aren't dropping frames, your connection has a problem. Could be your ISP shaping your connection (use shaperprobe!) or some other weirdness of Verizon FIOS.

Whatever it is, it is massively no bueno, and may be entirely out of your control (aside from turning your router off/on again, or yelling at your ISP, or switching ISPs).
