Question / Help Dropping connection, not sure how to fix

So I recently started streaming again and all was fine for the past three to four weeks until about two hours ago when I noticed my connection would drop and cause massive dropped frames. I noticed the bitrate would jump to about 2000kbps to 600 or so then to 0 and then it would spike to well over 12,000kbps and then after a second or two resume to 6,000kbps which is what I have it set to. My current connection can handle over 20mbps of upload so it couldn't be a limiting factor. It could be a connection issue with my internet for the moment so I will try it out tomorrow and see if it fixes itself. I have not changed anything or added any to my PC or OBS settings so I'm not sure what could be causing it. I read the thread about dropping frames and how to potentially find the source and fix the issue, but I can't understand why I can't find it.

EDIT: Just wanted to add I had a similar problem about 2 months ago that caused me to stop streaming and I don't want to as I've been streaming more lately and have been enjoying it. I am currently streaming using Nvidia shadowplay and it's not having any issues so I can only assume it's OBS or OBS related, something blocking the connection.+

I'm not sure where to start on fixing the issue? How could I stream for a month without any problems then get the exact same issue I had before with OBS before? Shadowplay is smooth as a button, but OBS is dropping my connection every thirty seconds and I don't understand why. Reinstalling didn't help and reading the page about dropping connections didn't help me.
