Question / Help Dropped Frames with Xbox > OBS

I've been having this issue for 2 months now...

I drop about 300 frames in 1 1/2 hours when streaming on my PC > OBS > Mixer FTL
I drop about 11,000 frames in 1 1/2 hours when streaming from my Xbox > OBS > Mixer FTL

(Yes I've tried streaming on Twitch which also gave me the same issues)

My settings are linked in the image but looks like my log file isn't there from yesterday's stream

Also, I stream on Mixer with FTL which is probably different than most forum posts on here. I've tried everything in the post they link all the time with ways to fix this. I contacted my ISP (believe me they hate me by now) I've had 2 techs out and new router/modem installed and still have this issue. I'm only having these insane dropped frames on Xbox to OBS. I've changed servers, messed with all settings, and I can't figure this out. I've even contacted Mixer 3 times of the issue and they don't see any issues on their end. Also, my in-game on Xbox NEVER lags. My connection speed is 100/10 (usually pushes to 118/12). Everything is connected to ethernet..my pc and my xbox always have been but these issues came up about 2 months ago.

Here are my logs.

I also just did the PC Game test playing Deceit on steam with same settings and dropped 1 frame in 20 minutes.
It has to be something with my Xbox I currently am using an Elgato HD60 but I always have been and this issue seems to have came about when OBS Studio with FTL was released. I was using OBS FTL 64 Bit beta before and didn't have this issue. Just trying to narrow down the cause. I'm not sure if it's the Xbox > Elgato > OBS because my PC > OBS works great....

I'm not sure what is happening here but with your Xbox you are not being able to connect to Mixer correctly, OBS thinks you are using RTMP (standard streaming protocol) but OBS is connecting to an FTL address and so it doesn't work.

Do you have a different Profile for your Xbox and PC? Can you check your Settings, Stream options and post a screenshot as this seems to be where the problem is.

Wow that's interesting...
What do you mean different profile? On OBS? I just use the same for PC and Xbox streams...
I always stream Mixer FTL and I'd like to keep it like that, is something wrong in my settings?

Wow, I really do see the issue now..I'm contacting Mixer and the Co-Founder of the site but no one has got back to me on how to resolve this issue. Could it be my old day one edition xb1 or my elgato hd60? :(

I've just realised what is wrong in your logs

The log for Xbox is an old version of OBS, unsupported here:
17:26:19.911: OBS 18.0.1-ftl.9 (64bit, windows)

The log for PC is nearly thecurrent version which is supported here:
19:42:12.634: OBS 20.1.0 (64bit, windows)

Do you have different shortcuts or something that are pointing at different versions of OBS?

Oh, maybe I don't have the log from when I streamed on Xbox but I did try installin the old OBS FTL beta version to see if that one worked but it didn't. I have been using OBS Studio 64bit that was the newest release since it came out which is the 20.1.0 I think the log I sent was when I was trying to see if it would work. My log I think I'm missing (I couldn't find it) was when I tried streaming for 1 1/2 hour from Xbox > Elgato > OBS > Mixer FTL and dropped 11,000 frames in that 1 1/2 hour time span. I use the same profile and just hide Elgato when I'm streaming PC games or hide window capture when I'm streaming Xbox games I never change anything and its always Mixer FTL on the newest version of OBS.

I'm going to try and find an older log file from a xbox stream in a few...

Here is a log file I sent Mixer on 9/25 with the same issue. Their response was I kept ending the stream which I did because I kept dropping thousands and thousands of frames. This was version 20.0.0 at the time.

My mistake on the previous logs I was just testing the old version of OBS FTL because I never had this problem on that program at the time.

Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 18380 (6.2%)

What we need is a log from the same (preferably latest) version of OBS. One log showing a successful PC stream and one showing a failing Xbox stream.

Fundamentally there should be no difference between the two, it looks like you are using 3000 bit rate on both but basically what the Xbox log is showing is that you don't have enough bandwidth to stream at 3000

Okay then, I'm going to be streaming a PC game today and will have that log later today and a possible Xbox one later tonight. That would make sense for the bandwidth issue, I was even thinking about buying a more powerful router to maybe fix that problem. Any settings you recommend for streaming with my Xbox with 100/10 internet? Can I create a new profile on OBS for just Xbox streams or should I just drop my bitrate every time I stream with Xbox? Regardless though I'll get those new logs today.

You shouldn't need to lower the bitrate for Xbox if the same bitrate works for PC. Get the logs and let's confirm that networking is the issue

BTW a new router won't help it's totally dependant on your ISP upload speeds

I’d love to say it’s an ISP issue but I’ve had the same ISP for years and this month alone I’ve had 2 techs come out and over 6 phone calls and new equipment installed. On top of that this barely started happening 2 months ago. 10 upload isn’t terrible is it? I’ve seen decent streams with 5 upload speed. Wouldn’t make sense why my pc doesn’t have this issue though...so frustrating :(

So, I went out and bought a modem with 8 upload channels (Arris Surfboard) just to see if maybe that would fix the issue. Not sure if I'm having a somewhat good day streaming or if this is still bad? Usually it drops more than this but its so unpredictable. Here is my recent log from an Xbox test stream I just did and I changed some settings.
