Dropped Frames on YouTube HLS Streaming

When I attempt to stream to YouTube using the HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) protocol and the HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) codec, I encounter significant dropped frames, especially when attempting to stream above 15,000 bitrate. This is puzzling to me since I've been able to successfully push much higher bitrates (e.g., 50,000 bitrate) using the RTMP protocol on YouTube without encountering dropped frames.

Settings > Advanced > Network > Enable Dynamically change bitrate...

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...

I seem to have the exact same problem. I am trying to stream 4K to YouTube HLS and sometimes it works without problems. Quite often, however, I have 50 - 60% of frames lost.

I can easily push 50 Mbit to RTMP servers (rmtp.youtube.com), zero drops. But if I switch to HLS servers (upload.youtube.com) then I lose at least 50% of frames. More strangely, this happens only (roughly) during daylight hours. In the evening, at night and early in the morning, 50 Mbit to HLS works without problems.

I have tested my Internet connection in various ways and everything is OK with it.
Are the upload.youtube.com servers overloaded during the day? What is going on?

I guess YouTube cant handle high bitrates sustainably when using HLS. It's unfortunate..
