Question / Help Dropped frames in every minute

Hello,
I have an odd problem since today. Never had any problems with dropped frames until today after like 2 years of streaming.

It started of while I was streaming, and randomly saw my bitrate go into red, and then after 2 seconds would be in the green again for another minute, and then drop to like 500/1500 kbps again. And I don't know why that would happen.

I tried a lot of stuff like
- Restart OBS
- Restart PC
- Switch Scene Collection
- Switch Servers
- Turn programs off
- Lowered Bitrate
- Tried in SLOBS (Did the same thing)
- Checked internet through Speedtest which seems fine and normal
- Restarted modem/router. (Yes, I am on cable)
- Checked task manager for possible weird things, seems fine as well
- And probably more that I am forgetting now.

It just randomly happened since today, and I don't know why since I didn't change much since I streamed yesterday except for the overlay background. (Which can't make that happen as far as I know) And I am pretty much at a loss now. Somebody experiencing/experienced the same problem? I am just hoping everything would be normal again tomorrow.

Added the log for the tests I did as well, hopefully anyone can get anything out of that!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Greetings,
Stefan.

EDIT: The problem fixed itself, and its not dropping any frames anymore. So I guess something was faulty that night with my ISP. Thanks for the help, and have a nice weekend!

Sounds as internet issues, on the upload. As you said speedtest reports fine, while in fact speedtest test lasts for few seconds and you probably tested it while it was good. I had issues with my cable isp as well. What I suggest you to do is run for example "ping youtube.com -t" in cmd in the background for few hours while those issues happen and when they happen take a look at the cmd windows for any timeouts. If you have none, then try pinging local router ip like 192.168.1.1 instead youtube. If you get timeouts there, you need to get your local network checked. On the other hand if you get timeouts and big ping increases while pinging youtube, take a look at your modem signals (ideal is upstream 40 +-5 and downstream 0 +-5 dbmV). If it is fine and you get issues still, call your isp its on their end like in my case it was, also if those signals are offset a lot, call them and let a technician visit to solve.

Thank you for the help in the first place. The problem seems to have fixed itself. I am not dropping any frames anymore. So I guess my ISP was just broken or something was wrong from like 9PM till 3AM or something. I am glad it fixed itself though!

I am glad the issue is gone, hopefully it doesn't happen again. My cable ISP is suffering from some weird issues with an optical converter and causing everyone who is connected to that node to have timeouts on upload. But cheers :)

Ah okay, that never happened to me. This time was probably the first time and hopefully the last time!
