I've been streaming on Twitch for about a year and a half now. I've never had any frame issues until last Saturday when I was streaming I started getting dropped frames and will get random disconnects from OBS. Dropped frames ranging from 4 to 5000. My OBS settings have been the same since I started over a year ago. I'm not sure what caused this issue and nothing I've tried seems to be stopping it and am stumped on what to do.
My Settings (Never changed since i started streaming over a year ago)
What I've tried
Lowering the Max bitrate by 100 all the way down to 300
Checking "Use CBR" and "Enable CBR Padding" (seems to make frame drops worse)
Lowering Audio Bitrate from 128 to 96
Tried every single FMS URL listed (no server significantly different from another. Have always used Virginia server)
Lowering FPS from 30 to 20
Lowering Downscale from 1.25 to 2
Changing x264 CPU Preset from veryfast to faster (not sure if CPU can handle more) but still didn't make a difference that i could tell
Made an account on HitBox TV and tried streaming there, still had frame drops
Had cable company come out to check my internet. He said he thought I needed a new splitter even though internet speed was fine, replaced splitter. Didnt resolve issue. (Internet is wired, am not on Wifi)
Disabled firewalls and anti virus
Streamed other games, still same issues
Re-installed OBS
Tried Xplit, framedrops on Xplit too
Reset stream keys
From what I've read on other posts, if the indicator bar in lower right on obs turns yellow and red it's a connection issue?
Logs show as well possibility of a connection issue but I feel I've looked at both sides of a connection issue? It fluctuates between yellow and green and after red will start dropping frames.
For the past week, every single time I've ran a speed test the speeds have been normal. Which I read to ignore speedtest as it is irrelevant to setting bitrate on OBS? However, last night I decided to run a speed test and the results were 3-4x lower than the average I get so I'm wondering what exactly is going on if that has anything to do with streaming?
