While I am doing some research on this issue, I decided to also create a thread on this just in case someone else has run into this issue as well.
I recently upgraded my stream PC from AMD 8370e / RX550 gpu to a 2x Xeon 5650 / 750ti build. I love this upgrade! But I ran into an issue where when I stream 864p60 / 6mbps upload / Medium cpu preset / my OBS log will show dropped frames due to encoding lag, though my total CPU usage never exceeds 60%. My 2 PC setup uses the NDI extension so the GPU is not really used, though a 750ti should be enough to handle this. I do notice when i increase the preset to fast, the issue seems to go away. But i am cureious, if my CPU doesnt see 100% usage, how is it that any frames are being dropped due to encoding lag? Im curious where the bottleneck would be..
