Question / Help DOOM OBS Studio not working?

Hello,

I use OBS Studio and if I play the game in full screen, I get no picture on stream only sound, if I go window mode and add the game it INSTANTLY closes down, I cannot get the game to work and stream the same time!

Any idea's?

Already did and no picture but there is sound or DOOM closes down.

So basically it is the same thing, other games are fine, this is not!

I'm having the same issue. Wasn't working for me during beta as well, I think I ended up having to monitor capture in windowed mode to even stream the game without Doom crashing.

I tried that but DOOM instantly closes. I tried other games and they are fine but DOOM, nope!

I have crossfire too, anyone find a solution? I added two logs for any information.

I love OBS and tomorrow I am going to download and try Xsplit in a hope it works. This will be the first time because I've had a few issues with OBS.

Set the Game to windowed mode and use the dektop record for it. Works fine for me. You also are able to set it to borderless. In addition you should pick a recording zone to delete borders.

Loaded up OBS Studio and Doom earlier tonight streamed the game in Borderless Fullscreen with not a single problem. Strange.

I was actually just running into the same issue. I can get it running through regular OBS, albeit veeeeerrry poorly, but I tried to do it through Studio and couldn't get it going at all.


Also, I keep getting this error message evrytime I open up OBS Studio.

"The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling it to fix this problem"

That is an indication that you didn't install the visual studio 2013 runtimes properly.

Doesn't work in OBS, X-Split, Gameshow, Bandicam, Dxtory, Action!, Plays.tv, Forge, and Playclaw, Can get recording with D3DGear without doom crashing, but it ends up making useless files. Definitely a problem with the game, not an OBS issue.

I can record the game very well, the game does lag severely if i try to but that is an issue of the games optimization.

The issues can be 1) your gpu is not good enough 2) the game is terribly built and cannot be captured while in fullscreen by obs.

Solutions i would suggest 1) try borderless windowed 2) try using hardware encoding and/or some capture card or equivalent software such as shadowplay (i realize you have AMD but i don't know what software it might offer).

this is about the game +4:4, it is not ready yet. But I think, it is too late to ask for support of the Doom game. If we loose now, it would be hard to do it at Aug 23 too.

I'm able to game capture Doom 4 just fine using OBS Studio and a GTX 970. I suspect this is an AMD driver issue. It wouldn't be the first time they've had issues with an OpenGL title, look at the problems people have had forever capturing Minecraft on R9 series cards.
