Doesnt Detect App

Greetings OBS Team

First I want to say thank you for making and supporting this App. Im a contributor to your project and plan to continue contributing for all your hard work. Thank you.

I want to report a bug in OBS for MacOS 12.2.

When I have a app open, the window capture setting doesnt detect it every time. This happens when I try to run an game via Steam, it doesnt detect it, or when I run GeForceNow. I have to close OBS, try to open the game, reopen OBS... sometimes this works. Other times I have to keep OBS on and close and reopen the App/Game. And sometimes if I leave the app / game on for 5-10 min OBS randomly detects and lists it. Its an odd bug.

I did all the normal troubleshooting you do (Im a former Apple Employee) via System Preferences, ensured Screen Recording is on, etc.

Ok this is getting ridiculous. Started an app today, Started OBS, it detected it, checked a few min later it had the app listed but was showing the Notes app instead of the game. Like seriously whats going on?

And now it doesnt detect the game at all? This is getting ridiculous

Is the game running fullscreen or borderless? I'm wondering if going borderless might help detection.

It makes sense the window capture wouldn't work when the game isn't running. If you're having issues with it automatically changing which window it grabs when the intended one isn't available, that's a setting you can change in the source options.
