Does OBS work with the new iMac 24"? (apple silicon m1)

Hi there,

has someone experience with the new imac?
My plan is to do some high quality recordings with obs, that means i want to use like a rode microphone which is connected to a mixer and then is again connected to the iMac with usb. Because i use an external camera i need to use a camlink which also needs to be connected to the iMac.

So, my exact question now is: Can the new iMac handle all this stuff without any problems or delays (external cam recording by connected camlink 4k and the external microphone)? Or would u recommend a previouse iMac with an intel cpu which also can handle the recordings easily.

Yes i use it as a work pc but also as a secondary streaming pc, it can run very well up to the veryfast preset, once you go to faster stream quality dies off, it gets a little hot tho, id expect once a native build of obs comes out performance will get a boost here is an example https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1107360606

do you use the camlink 4k for a external camera ? or just a normal webcam?
And which mixer are you using for the mac? i read that it´s better to work with an mixer which is able to be connected with a firewire cable.

Just to know that really everything will work haha sorry.
And i won`t stream btw, it will be recordings only
