Your question is a bit too simple. Rethink: A display is a device showing you pictures and frames. It is not part of your video processing pipeline. Instead it's the endpoint of your pipeline, converting signals into viewable pictures for your eyes... ;)
So if you have perfect rendering and processing for 4K, then your visual reception may benefit from a 4K display. (I assume you mean having a lower resolution display now instead).
