Question / Help Does my DAW Project ALSO Need to be in 48kHz?

Hi, I'm planning on streaming some of my private music rehearsals. I've set up Cubase (DAW) to send everything to OBS and its finally working great. :)
My only question is... many are saying to set the audio in OBS to 48kHz since it is destined for video - HOWEVER, most of the songs I use in Cubase are produced at 44.1 kHz - therefore I conduct my rehearsal sessions inside a 44.1 kHz project. Is it OK to have a mismatch like that (OBS capturing at 48kHZ while the Cubase sends at 44.1kHz)? If not, is it a big deal to leave OBS at 44? Otherwise, I will have to convert every music track to 48 when I import them in a 48 Cubase project... a bit tedious. Some good advice would be appreciated!

OBS works fine at 44.1kHz. 48kHz is the audio standard on DVDs, 44.1kHz is the audio standard on CDs. Thus, the disconnect. If you're going to create a DVD at the end of the day, I'd do 48, if a CD, then 44.1, if just a wave file, FLAC, MP3, etc, then it doesn't really matter, so I'd probably keep it at 44.1kHz since that's what the rest of your workflow uses.

I won't be creating a CD or DVD. These streams will go out to YouTube, Periscope, StreetJelly, etc... so what I'm sending out of Cubase will find itself in video format, but online only. So do I have to match the DAW project sample rate to the OBS sample rate? If there is a mismatch, will the audio sound sped up? Or throw an error? I first need to understand if it's ok to have a mismatch or not. Perhaps OBS converts incoming 44.1 to 48 so that it's ready for streaming? Or perhaps it is the streaming services/platforms that convert the 44 to 48?

If most of your workflow is 44.1, then I'd record with OBS in 44.1, then convert it to 48 at the very end, only for those services that need it at 48.
