I have been using OBS very successfully over the last few months to stream our church services to YouTube and Facebook; it really is a wonderful application and so useful during the current pandemic restriction.
We have a special church service at the end of this month to remember those in our parish who have died over the last year. During that service, the names of the individuals are read out whilst a candle is lit in memory of the individual. I think it would be nice to display the name on screen whilst it is being read out and I’m trying to figure out the best way to do this.
There will be approximately 20 something names, so I don’t really want to have 20 different text boxes that have to be toggled individually. The simplest solution would be a scolling list but what I’m worried about is slight delays in the proceedings - lighting candles can be a fickle process! – so I would need to be able to pause the scrolling and I don’t know of any way to do that.
Another thing I would like to consider is the inclusion of a photo of the deceased person but I suspect that might be very tricky!
Anyone got any suggestions on how I could do this? I’m open to using other software, e.g. I thought about setting it up on a PowerPoint presentation and displaying that through screen sharing but I haven’t yet explored the practicalities of that.
