Display Not Being Captured

Hello all, I got a new HP Pavillion Gaming with an NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX graphics card. When I add a display it shows as black. On my other laptop when I add the display it shows me what's on my display. For some reason with this new laptop nothing shows.

Any ideas?

I used the solution above a few months ago and it worked perfectly. however, last month for some unkown reason it wont work anymore.
any other ideas?

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...
